1. What this site is (and isn't)

SmartHomeWorkflow provides general product and compatibility information for smart home gear. It is not electrical, security, legal, or other professional advice. Anything involving household wiring may require a licensed electrician under your local codes — when in doubt, hire one. Information about security products is research, not a guarantee against loss or intrusion.

2. The compatibility data disclaimer — please actually read this one

Our compatibility, subscription, and lifecycle data is compiled from sources we believe reliable (manufacturer documentation, certification registries, published reporting), reflects the "last verified" date shown on each page, and can change without notice — firmware updates, cloud-service changes, and discontinuations happen constantly; tracking them is literally our job, and we still can't promise real-time perfection. All data is provided "AS IS," without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Checker and quiz results are informational estimates, not guarantees. Verify with the manufacturer before you buy. If we got something wrong, use our corrections process — we fix errors promptly.

3. Affiliate relationships

We may earn commissions on qualifying purchases made through links on this site, disclosed on the pages where such links appear. Commissions never alter our data or how products are presented — the full policy is on our affiliate disclosure and how we work pages.

4. Intellectual property

Site content, design, and the compilation of our database are ours or licensed to us. You get a limited, personal, non-commercial license to use the site. Third-party product names and trademarks belong to their owners; our compatibility statements are nominative references, not endorsements by or of any manufacturer.

5. Acceptable use

No scraping, bulk harvesting, or automated collection outside our published open data feed and its license; no reverse-engineering of paid API surfaces; no misuse of forms; no framing or hotlinking of site assets.

6. Your submissions

If you send us corrections, suggestions, or other submissions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them; we may edit or decline them. Please don't send anything confidential.

7. Third-party links

Retailer and manufacturer sites are their own worlds — we're not responsible for their content, prices, availability, or fulfillment.

8. Disclaimer of warranties & limitation of liability

The site is provided "AS IS" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its information — including purchase decisions based on our data. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (for most readers: $100, because the site is free).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the site or violation of these terms.

10. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content here infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice via the contact page with the standard DMCA elements (identification of the work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, good-faith statement, and signature). We respond promptly.

11. Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in courts located in Missouri.
