Manufacturer operationally defunct in the US as of 2026: cloud outage June 2025, Amazon permanently removed the Sengled Alexa skill Aug 2025 ('repeated extended service interruptions'), US storefront offline since Oct 2025, distressed-company press reports, no company statements. Remaining retail stock still sells (~$10). This Matter SKU keeps working locally without Sengled's cloud — Sengled's older WiFi (non-Matter) bulbs are the trap: cloud-dependent and effectively dead for smart control. Sengled is effectively out of business in the US — no support, no updates, no warranty. This Matter bulb survives on local control, but buying new from a defunct manufacturer is hard to justify; existing owners of Sengled Zigbee bulbs can re-pair them to any Zigbee hub, while owners of Sengled's cloud WiFi bulbs have lost smart control entirely.
